GOSPEL: Good News – For a Lost and Broken World

Bible and Christmas Lights

In the beginning was God, and He created the world. Then He created man and woman in His good image. It was perfect.

From there an outside, enemy creation lured them to sin against God, and disaster has resulted after for all of mankind…

It’s like us being deceived into wrong doing and reaping the given consequence after. So, God’s holiness and justice was now against them because they were forewarned, but still received the temptation.

We all, like them, have embraced sin and like them have been broken since.

There is a God, and His position with us was once our everything, including our guidance and keeper, but we lost Him, darkened by sin, and our spirit died.

When we lost God, our world lost perfect love, peace, joy and everything pure, and death also entered. We die because we’re spiritual creatures with a dead spirit.

God throws dead things into the fire as they are unsightly and unprofitable.

And admitedly a world with broken love and little peace we’d agree is one to be forgotten. But we are God’s creation, wired to desire these things.

I learned to notice how we continue to seek these things (hopes of salvation for life: through marriage, family, wealth, seeking God and to please Him with religion, or drugs, jobs, ect.), but none of our methods are right and none of them cure our longings. They are bandages that fall away before our wounds heal. They may even be medicines that infect and react worse, through their disappointment, and cause more damage to our broken areas than before we sought them for resolve.

None of it stops our decaying, and world at lost.

This is the gospel:

God’s mercy cares about His creation, but not it’s sinful nature. God has a heart of love that’s for redemption, but it cannot do away with justice.

God says that these are sinful, evil works:

Galatians‬ ‭5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: (sexual immorality) adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness (sensuality), idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
‭‭

If you were called not by your name but by your sin would you see your name on this list? Scripture says that all have sinned (Romans 3).

Lying, hatred and selfishness are natural nature to us, but God’s holiness is against these things because they only amount to pain and death. Sin is corruption. And it’s been corrupting itself justly.

We’re guilty, and reaping what we’ve sown. This is God’s standard: to be without sin; so in His sight and not your own, would you be innocent or guilty if judged?

God cannot protect and save what has done evil. It’s condemnation is fair. It’s good that God is just! We don’t want a God who accepts evil. But we are in His unsettling wrath. You are in God’s wrath if you practice these things.

BUT God has given an unsettling grace too!

A salvation undeserved.

(John 1) God is the Word (every structure and keeper of our world), and God tells us in His word, that the Word became flesh. 2000 and so years ago, Jesus was born/ God as a man, amongst mankind. He lived sinless, and in perfect love to us and God. He testified of God and told of the grace to come at His dying on the cross, like prophecied about in the early scriptures for the people’s hope to come.

So Love Himself eventually brutally died on a cross, premitted by God to be a sacrifice for us, the people who put Him there. Jesus, an innocent man, shares a mercy unknown before by taking our condemnation and guilt upon His body as the mediator for our judgement.

Jesus fully human like you and I, yet knowing so clearly and deeply the goodness of God and how He, as the Son lived without a cause to be hated or forsaken by His Father, was forsaken by Him. He experienced the full neglect and wrath of God being poured on Him after a meek life of obedience on our behalf.

Scripture: Isaiah‬ ‭53:2-12‬ ‭“For He [Christ] shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground.

He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth.

Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied.

By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.”
‭‭

Isaiah‬ ‭53:1‬ ‭(paraphrased) “Who believes what we’ve heard and seen? Who would have thought GOD ’s saving power would look like this?”
‭‭

God said that this was justice for sin. Think of the sin in your life, and know that:

Hebrews‬ ‭9:27‬ “…it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,”

Also know that you can look to Christ!‭‭

Hebrews‬ ‭9:28‬ “so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.”
‭‭‭

John‬ ‭3:16‬ ““For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
‭‭

Jesus though hating the experience of the wrath of God, gladly stood as our sacrifice because He looked forward to the harvest/ those who would hear the gospel be awakened, restored and join His kingdom. God’s loves you, and Jesus loves you! He looked forward to you hearing the good news!

Now anyone who believes in the sacrifice of Christ is free. God will know you again, and He can be known by you. Condemnation is paid for. Christ’s sacrifice was victorious and this victory is shared with believers!

Jesus says to repent and believe (meaning acknowledge that the works of the flesh are evil in God’s sight, separates mankind from Him, are works of the lost, and that God has found you, and told you that you need forgiveness and that it’s found in Him/Christ who’s salvation is worth embracing wholeheartedly!).

Without Christ we are dead in darkness, now receive Christ (new) life and light!

John‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭ “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
‭‭

Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
‭‭

Romans‬ ‭10:17‬ “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

God’s soveriengty has made a way for Good News and shared it with you. Recieve Him!

Romans‬ 13-15‬ “For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!””
