To this I agree and disagree. ⠀⠀
Maybe it’s not implying that the world is more tempting than God, but if it is… that’s false. A LIE, that we only wrestle with when we haven’t seen God. God is the mastermind behind anything we could ever enjoy! He is the spiritual and infinite heart of love that we long for beyond the concrete things we awe at. He’s the good in everything! His being and glory once encountered makes you toss away the thought of embracing temporary luxuries over Him, who’s an eternal treasure.
⠀⠀
But if it’s implying that we have a fallen nature in us that doesn’t see clearly, or think in light of eternity, or is not knowledgeable enough to know how to avoid every clever lie or distortion the enemy offers us, to make us have faith that the world is closer and more fulfilling than God, then that’s true. Yes, the evil power of this earth will strive to distract us from growing in truth. He loves giving endless entertainment, false promises and highs so that we’ll always serve ourself, to our own neglect.
⠀⠀
To pull away from that is not only hard to overcome so that we grow closer to God, but impossible. We cannot fight against temptation in our own strength, as that is fighting against a nature bigger than us. We can only run to God and await Him. Await His help, that has already intervened as Jesus who overcame and defeated His enemies. Only in Christ is there NOTHING that can separate us from the love of God. Praise God! Jesus has been sent as salvation!

Redemption and building a relationship with God begins at the hearing of the gospel, because faith comes by hearing, and believing/ trusting, knowing the good news starts a new desire. Fulfill that desire awakened by faith! Only God last forever, so give everything to His glory that loves you! Don’t be deceived to waste a moment of devotion!
God’s will is that we know Him and be renewed in His image, and that we worship Him, and love others in Spirit and truth. Start with the ability you have! God’s with His people! Read Ephesians.
God welcomes us back to His paradise through Christ. He welcomes us to be washed of sin, guilt, futility, made new in the pride and splendor of grace and love!
